We welcome the opportunity to care for your child while you worship. We hope that you and your family feel at home at Grace Community Church.
The following describes and explains how our nursery functions. If you have any questions, please ask the nursery coordinator or any of the nursery staff volunteers.
SECURITY
The security of your child is of preeminent importance to us. Therefore, we issue a wristband to both parent and child at the time of registering your child in the nursery. Children will be released to a parent only when the corresponding wristband is presented and verified by nursery staff. In some cases, identification of a parent may be requested to verify matching names. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we strive to provide a safe, caring environment for your children.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
Admissions
1) Label child’s personal belongings which are likely to be used. Labeling supplies are available at nursery door if needed.
2) Fill out registration roster with complete information.
3) Receive a numbered wristband for yourself which matches the one assigned to your child. Once the wristband is attached, it is to be removed by the nursery worker upon checkout.
Discharge
1) Request your child at the door. A staff member will remove your wristband at this time, which must match your child’s wristband.
2) Verify that all personal belongings are in your diaper bag.
3) At this time, your child will be released.
MEDICATIONS
Please note, if your child is on medication, prescription or nonprescription, we ask that you, the parent, come and administer the dosage at the proper time. Our nursery staff is not permitted to give any child medicine.
NURSING MOMS
Nursing moms are encouraged to use the training chapel while nursing their baby.
NUMBER LIGHT BOARD
Our facility is equipped with a number light board (in each corner of the sanctuary you can see the light board) in order to notify parents if they are needed in the nursery. The child’s/parent’s number will appear on the board when the parent is needed.
SERVING IN THE NURSERY
We offer a training class once a year for those who would like to serve in this ministry.
NURSERY GUIDELINES
*Trained nursery staff (consisting of parents and others) will open the nursery after family time in Sunday School which begins at 9:00 a.m.
The nursery will remain opened until every child is picked up after the morning worship service.
*Only authorized nursery personnel are allowed in the nursery. This is for the safety and welfare of your children. This is a "well-child" nursery. We ask that children with symptoms of illness stay with you. Label all personal belongings before your register (diaper bags, bottles, etc.). The parent registering the child is to be the only one who may pick up the child. A security system is used for the protection of your child.
Your child’s health, safety and welfare are of the utmost importance to us!
