Brian Update 6/8/16

Update from Ashley:
Dad’s surgical procedure went well this morning. It was more invasive than they were expecting so he is in a lot of pain again. He was discharged and my parents are resting at their hotel and will hopefully be home tomorrow, depending on how he is feeling. Thank you again for your prayers.

Dear brothers and sisters,

I was hoping to preach this coming Lord’s Day (sermon is half done!), but Ariel and I need to return to UCSF tomorrow for a surgical procedure on my incision on Friday morning. Dr. McDermott believes that the big black thing on top of my incision is something that needs to come out/off immediately. He called it something but I can’t remember. I will be in the hospital for 2 days. I should be home Sunday or Monday.

This seems like small potatoes to me (comparatively speaking), but would still appreciate your prayers for a successful removal.

Lord willing, on June 19 I will preach on Biblical Reflections After Brain Surgery.

Thanks for your fellowship and partnership in prayer.

Brian

Brother Borgman, I was sitting in baylor hospital in dallas down loading your sermons for my brother who has damaged his cervical spine and not expected to recover to be off of life support. I was saddened to discover you are going through a very difficult medical situation yourself. I discovered your sermons on sermon audio about 3 years ago while looking for some help teaching a class through the book of judges. Since that time I have downloaded and been blessed by dozens of your sermons. Particularly systematic studies on the reformed faith, the doctrine of God etc. I have played some of the same sermons literally dozens of times. You have been such a blessing to my understanding of God and theology in general. I pray for your speedy recovery. It brings to mind pastor matt chandler her in dallas that went through a similar situation and by God's providence recovered. I pray you will recover as well as you have been such a blessing to me and I am sure to other Christians literally all over the world via the internet. Be strong in the Lord brother as we need you and your clear reformed preaching in the Body of Christ. Blessings, kyle
