Jesus gives a simple command that has profound implications. “Love your enemies” is a command that people often embrace on the surface, but resist in real life. How are we to love our enemies?

  1. Why do we struggle with praying for enemies?
  2. If you do not feel able to pray for enemies, what needs to change in you to be able to obey Jesus’ command?
  3. Think of people you oppose or who oppose you. How can you pray for them?
  4. How did Jesus meet the standards of this command? How does that help us to likewise obey?
